Ka 4 Rhönlerche II training incident at Bern-Belpmoos results in outlanding and stall
On April 11, 1962, a Ka 4 Rhönlerche II experienced an incident during a training flight at Bern-Belpmoos. The student pilot, conducting a solo exercise, was unable to maintain sufficient altitude during the landing approach. As a result, the aircraft stalled and impacted the ground in a steep attitude. The pilot suffered a minor head injury, while the aircraft sustained significant damage. The investigation concluded that the accident was caused by insufficient airspeed during the approach.
