Außenlandungsvorfall des SGU S 22 bei turbulenten Bedingungen in Crémines

Am 13. Juni 1965 erlebte ein SGU S 22 eine Außenlandung in der Nähe von Crémines, Schweiz. Das Segelflugzeug stieß beim Anflug auf einen gemähten Streifen auf erhebliche Turbulenzen. Bei der Landung ragte die rechte Flügelspitze in hohes Gras, was dazu führte, dass das Flugzeug abrupt nach rechts abdriftete und schwer beschädigt wurde. Der Pilot blieb unverletzt, aber das Flugzeug wurde als irreparabel eingestuft. Der Vorfall unterstreicht die Herausforderungen bei Landungen unter turbulenten Bedingungen.

1. Outlanding approach: The glider was conducting an outlanding approach to a mowed strip in a field after leaving normal airfield operations.
2. Significant turbulence: The approach to the mowed landing strip was flown in considerable turbulence, making precise control and alignment more difficult.
3. Right wingtip enters grass: Immediately after touchdown on the mowed strip, the right wingtip extended beyond the strip into adjacent high grass.
4. Abrupt right veer: Contact of the right wingtip with the high grass caused the glider to be brusquely pulled and turned to the right, leading to loss of directional control on the ground.
5. Outlanding - damage: The glider sustained heavy damage and was not rebuilt, while the pilot remained uninjured.
