Olten Flugplatz (LSPO), Switzerland Alexander Schleicher Ka 2

Oktober 1966 genehmigt.

  1. Aerotow departure: The Ka 2 HB-465 began an aerotow launch at Olten airfield.
  2. Dive brakes left out: The glider was flown with the dive brakes inadvertently left extended, without the pilot realizing it, during the tow.
  3. Approach with brakes: The pilot continued the subsequent landing approach and landing with the dive brakes still extended, degrading performance.
  4. Collision with fence: During the landing roll the glider collided with a fence on the airfield.
  5. Crash - no injury: The glider was damaged in the fence collision, while the pilot remained uninjured.
