Mid-air collision between Bergfalke and Zugvogel over Muottas Muragl, Switzerland
On July 31, 1967, a mid-air collision occurred between a Bergfalke and a Zugvogel III A over Muottas Muragl, Switzerland. Both aircraft were independently flying in the area when they collided at low altitude, resulting in the destruction of both gliders. The pilots of both aircraft were unable to use their parachutes and tragically lost their lives. The investigation concluded that insufficient airspace monitoring likely led to the collision.
