Le 28 juin 1986, un planeur SZD-51-1 Junior a connu un incident peu après le décollage de l'aérodrome de Birrfeld en Suisse.   7. Crash - serious injury: The glider impacted the ground near Birrhard at an estimated 60° nose-down attitude, destroying the aircraft and seriously injuring the pilot.
