Grob Twin II Acro collision with trees during approach near Losone
On March 28, 1991, a Grob G 103 Twin II Acro was involved in an accident near Losone, Switzerland. The glider, carrying two pilots, was returning to Ascona airfield after a local training flight. During the approach, approximately 800 meters from the runway threshold, the glider collided with trees and crashed onto a road. The front-seat pilot sustained serious injuries, while the rear-seat pilot was unharmed. Additionally, a pedestrian was slightly injured, and the glider was destroyed, with damage also occurring to a nearby car and building. The accident was attributed to a delayed decision to return and insufficient preparation and experience in the region.
