DG-800-Absturz in Radevormwald nach medizinischem Notfall des Piloten
Am 14. Juni 2000 stürzte eine Glaser-Dirks DG-800 B Motorsegelflugzeug in einen Wald in der Nähe von Radevormwald, Deutschland. Der allein fliegende Pilot erlitt tödliche Verletzungen. Der Flug begann ohne Zwischenfälle, doch Zeugen beobachteten, wie das Flugzeug in einen unkontrollierten Spiralsturz geriet und dann schnell sank. Eine Untersuchung ergab keine technischen Mängel am Flugzeug. Es wurde festgestellt, dass der Pilot ein akutes Koronarereignis erlitt, was zum Kontrollverlust führte.

- Acute heart failure: During the cruise/thermalling portion of the flight, the pilot suffered an acute coronary event and died in flight.
- Loss of control: With the pilot incapacitated, the motor glider entered an uncontrolled attitude with spin-like motions and descended toward the ground.
- Crash - fatal: The uncontrolled motor glider impacted a nearby forest and was destroyed, fatally injuring the sole pilot.
