Crash d'un ASH 26 E près de Bad Liebenzell après une crise cardiaque du pilote
Le 17 août 2002, un Alexander Schleicher ASH 26 E s'est écrasé près de Bad Liebenzell, en Allemagne. Le planeur effectuait des manœuvres acrobatiques lorsqu'il a percuté des arbres et s'est abîmé dans une zone boisée. Le pilote a été retrouvé inconscient dans le cockpit et n'a pas pu être réanimé. Une autopsie a révélé que le pilote avait subi une crise cardiaque peu avant le crash. Le planeur a été détruit, avec des dommages mineurs à la végétation environnante. Aucun défaut technique n'a été trouvé sur l'appareil.

- Pilot heart attack: Around the time of the accident the pilot suffered an acute, medically caused heart attack, leading to incapacitation.
- Uncontrolled descent: While performing aerobatic loopings near Bad Liebenzell-Unterhaugstett, the glider descended out of control and flew into the tops of trees.
- Crash - fatal: At about 12:55 the glider struck a fir treetop at about 30 m height, then impacted almost vertically into mixed woodland, destroying the aircraft and fatally injuring the pilot.
